The views are breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of peaks and valleys, while the vibrant summer landscape bursts with color. Each day, we set our sights on a cozy restaurant or 'rifugio', where we enjoy a delicious lunch and recharge our bikes.
This trip is perfect for those who love riding MTB on trails and gravel roads and want to reach their full potential with the help of an e-motor. For those who prefer not to ride, there are alternative activities such as hiking, yoga, padel, and other excursions.

About Sauze d'Oulx

Grand experiences in a small, picturesque mountain village with all the charm of the Italian Alps—stunning nature, unbeatable food, and excellent Piedmont wines.
Winter – 400 km of slopes for all levels, a cozy village with great restaurants and bars.
Summer – peaceful and beautiful, offering breathtaking alpine adventures in diverse landscapes.
The area we ride in spans two valleys, hundreds of kilometers of gravel roads, endless trails, and top-class downhill tracks. Nearby, you'll find the famous Langhe/Barolo wine regions and vibrant cities.

Program 

During the week, we ride 5 different day tours (4 on shorter trips) on full-suspension Specialized E-MTBs. We move between 1,500 and 2,700 meters above sea level, along an incredible network of natural trails and gravel roads. Highlights include the iconic military gravel road Via dell’Assietta, as well as access to maintained downhill tracks.
The tours take us to places like Sestriere, Bardonecchia, and Claviere, and one day we even cross the border into France to explore Montgenèvre. In the afternoons, the rides are a bit shorter so there's time to enjoy an after bike, aperitivo, or a wine tasting in the charming village of Sauze d’Oulx. In the evenings, we enjoy dinners at selected cozy restaurants in the village.

What is required of you?

Fitness level: 3 out of 5
We ride 3–5 hours a day, covering 35–50 km per day.
Technical level: 2/3/4 out of 5
You should enjoy mountain biking on trails. Most of the riding is on gravel roads and trails, with options to choose more challenging singletracks and downhill runs.

Cancellation Fees

We have arranged a travel guarantee with Kammarkollegiet. This means you are entitled to compensation if your trip is canceled or interrupted due to our company becoming insolvent.

Accident Insurance

A perfect blend of luxury, first-class dining, breathtaking views, and fantastic trails – all without overtourism.

About the Lakes

Between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta in northern Italy, hills and mountains stretch out, offering fantastic trails for mountain biking. From here, you can enjoy views of Monte Rosa – the second highest peak in the Alps.

We stay at a charming hotel with its own private dock on Lake Orta, and from there we set out on daily bike rides. Sometimes we pedal uphill ourselves, and other times we take a shuttle up to Mount Mottarone, which offers spectacular views and incredible trails.

One day we have lunch along the promenade by Lake Maggiore, another day we ride downhill tracks – every day brings a new adventure during our four days of cycling.

The evenings are rounded off with dinners at selected restaurants, one of which is recommended by the Michelin Guide.

Program

From the airport in Turin, our transfer takes us to four star Hotel Il Giardinetto by the beautiful Lake Orta, where we enjoy a welcome dinner together on the first evening.

The next morning, we pick up our full-suspension Scott E-Strike bikes and hop into the shuttle bus, which takes us up to an altitude of 1,500 meters – right between the two lakes. That’s where our adventure begins.

On the first day, we have lunch in Stresa, right by the shores of Lake Maggiore – just 50 meters from the water.

Each day offers new and varied trails, breathtaking views, delicious lunches, and dinners at selected restaurants, including one in Omegna and one in Orta San Giulio.

What is required of you?

  • Fitness level: 3 out of 5. We cycle 3–5 hours a day, covering 35–60 km per day.

  • Technical skill level: 2/3/4 out of 5. You should enjoy riding MTB on trails. Most of the riding will be on gravel roads and trails, with the option to choose more challenging singletracks and downhill runs.

Your Guides

We, Filippo Guiot and Franco Manfrinato, will be your guides. We're two friends from Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere who now live in Sweden and are passionate about sharing the beauty of our mountains with others. 
We’re active and dedicated cyclists, now offering E-MTB trips tailored to the needs of each group—whether private individuals or companies.
Our goals are to always create a great social atmosphere, deliver exceptional nature and sport experiences, and provide the highest level of service.

Filippo Guiot

Filippo is a ski instructor and certified MTB guide from Sestriere. He has lived in Sweden since 2007 and ran a bike shop for 17 years. Filippo is also a trained physical education teacher, and now works as a guide for hiking, skiing and corporate trips to the Alps.
 
His love for nature and the Alps has inspired him to work with active travel, and his passion for MTB riding has given him extensive experience in the region surrounding the Vialattea ski area, with Sauze d’Oulx as its heart.
Filippo’s goal is always to create extraordinary experiences and deliver the highest level of service.

Franco Manfrinato

Franco is a ski instructor, massage therapist, and personal trainer from Sauze d’Oulx. After his years as an alpine ski racer, he co-founded Sauze Project in 1988, which has since become the largest ski school in Sauze d’Oulx. Franco moved to Sweden in 1993 and has since run the family business, Manfrinato AB, focusing on wellness, training, and active travel to Italy. In his free time, he’s an avid cyclist.

Franco is still active as a ski instructor during the winter season and organizes hiking and yoga trips to the Alps and Sicily together with his wife, a tradition they’ve carried on for over 20 years. Franco has deep knowledge of the Vialattea area, a wide network of local contacts, and countless experiences to share.

Davide Merlo

I’m Davide Merlo, born in Novara in 1966. I’m a former motorcycle racer, and since 1995 I’ve been working in sports tourism as a freelance ski instructor, national snowboard instructor, mountain bike guide, and technical specialist for helicopter operations involving both cargo and passenger transport.

For about 20 years, I’ve been organizing mountain bike holidays and trips throughout the Aosta Valley—including Zermatt (Switzerland)—thanks to the heli-biking experiences I offer between Cervinia and Zermatt. I also work across northern, central, and southern Sardinia, as well as in Piemonte, Liguria, and France with tours around Mont Blanc.
During the winter season, I dedicate my time to ski freeride, heliskiing, and backcountry activities.

Eleonora Marchetti

My name is Eleonora Marchetti, and since childhood, I’ve nurtured a deep passion for the mountains – a passion I now live and explore in every way. I’m a certified MTB guide, trained at the National Academy of Mountain Bike, and my goal is to lead people in discovering the wonders of the Alps, especially the beautiful Val di Susa. With years of experience on local trails and in-depth knowledge of the area, I guide you through routes suitable for all levels – from peaceful rides to more technical challenges.

In winter, you’ll often find me immersed in the magic of ski mountaineering, while in summer, my heart beats for the rock and the trails: I passionately practice both climbing and mountain biking – two disciplines that let me explore the mountains in all their richness.

I chose to become an MTB guide thanks to this very passion – a dream that has become reality, allowing me to share authentic experiences and create unforgettable moments on two wheels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, my mission is to make every outing a wonderful adventure, with complete safety and full connection with nature.
